Palli Bidyut Samity Job Circular 2025
Sunamganj Palli Bidyut Samity has published a job circular for hiring manpower. A total of 25 individuals will be recruited for one position, with the number of vacancies subject to change. Eligible candidates can apply for the position until March 20, 2025.
Position Details:
- Position Name: Meter Reader cum Messenger (3-year contractual basis)
- Number of Vacancies: 25 (subject to increase or decrease)
- Salary Scale: As per the Palli Bidyut Samiti (PBS) pay structure 2016
- Monthly Basic Salary: 14,700 BDT
- Maximum Salary: 26,480 BDT
- Additional allowances as per organizational policy
- Age Limit:
- General candidates: 18 to 25 years as of March 5, 2025
- For existing PBS line workers: Age relaxation up to 40 years

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination.
- Must be honest, trustworthy, and of good character.
- Must possess basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Should have a good physical build and a well-presented personality.
- Legible handwriting is required.
- Must be willing to work with customers and handle billing.
- Should own a bicycle and be proficient in riding it.
- Must be ready to visit rural areas for meter reading and bill distribution.
- Existing PBS line workers meeting the qualifications may apply as departmental candidates.
- Security deposit: Selected candidates must submit 10,000 BDT as a refundable security deposit.

- Applicants must upload:
- A recent passport-size color photo (300×300 pixels, max 100KB)
- A scanned signature (300×80 pixels, max 60KB)
- Candidates must ensure accuracy before submitting the application, as the provided details will be used for further processing.
- After submission, applicants must print a copy for future reference.
Examination & Selection Process:
- The written and MCQ exams will be conducted, followed by a viva (oral) test.

- SMS notifications will be sent to applicants’ registered mobile numbers.
- Candidates must bring:
- Two copies of the applicant copy & admit card
- Two attested copies of the required documents:
- Recent passport-size color photos (3 copies)
- Academic certificates
- Citizenship certificate (issued by Union Parishad, Municipality, or City Corporation)
- Character certificate from a 1st class officer
- National ID card or Birth Certificate
- Departmental clearance (if applicable)
- Joining letter (for PBS line workers)
Important Notes:
- No TA/DA (travel allowance) will be provided for the exam.
- Age verification: Only SSC/equivalent certificates will be considered. Affidavits will not be accepted.
- False information or attempts to conceal identity will result in immediate disqualification and legal action.
- Personal influence or lobbying will lead to disqualification.
- Selected candidates will be appointed on a 3-year contract, subject to annual performance evaluations. The contract may be renewed with a short break but will not lead to permanent employment.
- A police verification will be conducted before final appointment. Any adverse findings may result in contract termination without notice.
- Immediate relatives (spouse or direct blood relatives) of PBS employees or board directors are not eligible to apply.
- Only one sibling per family can apply. If multiple siblings are hired, both will be disqualified.
- Candidates dismissed from any PBS or government agency due to misconduct are not eligible.
- The authority reserves the right to amend or cancel the recruitment process without prior notice.
